Uncle, Duke & The Chief, the fifth studio album from critically acclaimed Toronto band Born Ruffians, is out now via Yep Roc Records. The album is available for purchase/streaming at, and Billboard recently streamed the record in its entirety in advance of its release. Paste raves that, “At nine tracks, there’s not a flop in the bunch, making Uncle, Duke, & The Chief an extremely likable return to form from an extremely likable band.”

Born Ruffians also recently premiered the video for the single “Miss You,” the third in a video trilogy starring frontman Luke Lalonde and directed by Leah Fay Goldstein and Peter Dreimanis of July Talk. It follows the videos for the tracks “Love Too Soon” and “Forget Me.”

The band is celebrating the release of Uncle, Duke & The Chief with a world tour kicking off with a sold-out show at Montreal’s Casa del Popolo on March 1. The tour includes a five-night residency in the group’s hometown at Lee’s Palace, with four of the shows already sold out; see below for a list of dates.

The first record since 2013’s Birthmarks to feature the group’s original three-piece lineup of guitarist/vocalist Lalonde, bassist Mitch DeRosier and drummer Steve Hamelin, Uncle, Duke & The Chief is produced by Richard Swift (The Shins, Foxygen, Tennis, Nathaniel Rateliff).
