Take equal parts Digable Planets and Erykah Badu, add a dash of Jill Scott and you’ll get a taste for TheeSatisfaction. The Sub Pop signees, write, produce and perform their own material described by the label as “funk-psychedelic¬†feminista sci-fi epics with the warmth and depth of Black Jazz and Sunday morning soul, frosted with icy raps that evoke equal parts Elaine Brown, Ursula Ruck and Q-Tip.” Hopefully, one of these two descriptions will convey that this duo is an act you shouldn’t miss.

Los Angeles folks can catch them tonight at The Echo by winning a pair of tickets on our app. Download our app to enter. Then, Friday San Francisco folks can catch them at The Independent.
