The Jarvis Cocker-fronted Pulp, who will appear at Coachella 2012 on the heels of last year’s reunion, have announced two additional shows in New York and San Francicso this April. If you’re like us – a little weary of the cash-grabby “reunion season” that emerges this time every year – we highly recommend Vanity Fair’s commentary on why the Pulp reunion isn’t just another cynical rock’n’roll cash-in:
If ever there were a band equipped to deftly skewer Generation X and Y’s reunion-happy culture (personally, I think it has something to do with all those parental divorces), it’s this one; and yet there’s nothing about the idea of a Pulp reunion that feels icky, largely because they’ve never been heavy on sentimentality.
Pulp 2012 tour dates:
04-11 New York, NY – Radio City Music Hall
04-13 Indio, CA – Coachella
04-17 San Francisco, CA – The Warfield
04-20 Indio, CA – Coachella
