If you’re pulling your 2012 New Years Eve plans together in Los Angeles, may we drop you a few recommendations? Whether you want to pack a club or a tucked-away campgrounds, we’ve got some recommendations for where you should find yourself on December 31st in LA.
Big Bang NYE: Cobra Starship, Lupe Fiasco
- Who: Cobra Starship, Lupe Fiasco, hosted by Mario Lopez
- When: 9pm – 2am
- Where: Kodak Theater, 6801 Hollywood Boulevard
It’s a pretty bizarre billing, but Cobra Starship and Lupe Fiasco should both bring the heat at the beautiful Kodak Theater Complex. You can’t go wrong when your event is hosted by Slater from Saved By the Bell (sorry Mario…I can’t let it go) and your venue looks like this:
Together as One: Diplo, Chromeo, Bloody Beetroots
- Who: Duck Sauce, Diplo, Bloody Beetroots, Chromeo, Felix da Houescat, Funkagenda, Dirty South, more
- When: 5pm – 2am
- Where: Oak Canyon Park, 5305 Santiago Canyon Road
Tucked away in the hills of Orange County, Oak County Park provides a huge open air space for this party with Diplo, Chromeo and a dozen more electro / dance acts. As a bonus, the fresh air will mitigate that sweaty club smell (sort of) while you dance your ass off, tucked away from the rest of civilization at the outset of 2012.
Last year’s very epileptic recap:
Wanda Jackson / Best Coast at Club Nokia
You’re probably stoked for the buzzed-up (and deserving) Best Coast, but save some room for Elvis’ old sweetheart. Though the Queen of Rockabilly’s “Let’s Have a Party” is 41 years old, isn’t this the perfect theme for New Years Eve?
