Courtney Love threw a fit when a fan at Hole’s show in Brazil held up a picture of deceased ex-husband and former Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain. Upon spotting the picture, Love pointed square at the fan and launched into this tirade:
“I don’t need to see a picture of Kurt, asshole, and I’m going to have you fucking removed if you keep throwing that up…I’m not Kurt — I have to live with his fucking shit, his ghost, his kid every day. Throwing that up is stupid and rude and I’m gonna beat the fuck out of you if you do it again.”
Perhaps it wasn’t so diplomatically delivered (which was never her strong suit), but maybe she has a point – waving a picture of someone’s dead husband around while they try to play music for you is an especially cruel form of heckling. Love wrapped up her rant and wandered offstage, middle fingers a-blazing, and took a small break in the wings.
Love was quick to forgive, though (one of the rare times you’ll read that sentence anywhere). After her guitarist led chants of “The Foo Fighters are gay!,” Love got all sentimental over the unified hate for Dave Grohl and came back out with that “you like me, you really like me!” look to finish the set. (Love and Grohl have a long history of contention over the handling of Nirvana’s estate.)

What do you think – is Love out of control once again, or is she right in putting hecklers in line?
