LA is in the midst of June Gloom, where the sun hides behind grey clouds and the temperature comfortably drops. When the clouds disappear, it may turn out to be the hottest summer on record, as year after year we seem to reach new heights of heat. And we can’t forget how climate change affects the rest of the country too-Boston must be tired of those extreme Polar Vortex blizzards.

In an effort to heal our planet and slow the effects of climate change, Angelenos will come together on June 27 at the Ace Hotel to celebrate Climate Day LA! You can expect special performances from the likes of Moby, Neon Indian, and Weyes Blood, as well as panel speakers such as LA’s Mayor, Eric Garcetti, and President of Ward Economic Development Corporation, Jacquelyn Dupont-Walker.

Thrillcall is giving away a pair of passes to the event; enter by downloading our app and setting your location to Los Angeles!

Climate Day LA

Climate Day LA will consist of panels during the day and live performances at night, all happening downtown at the Ace Hotel. The conference speakers will begin just after noon, with other workshops and exhibits planned for mid-day. The daytime conference is free to enter with an RSVP; this does not include the evening concerts. Around mid-afternoon, the Benefit Gala will begin in Segovia Hall, featuring a DJ set from Moby. Next, the evening concerts will happen in the Theatre at the Ace Hotel, featuring performances from Neon Indian, Weyes Blood, Eric Wareheim (of Tim & Eric), and more.

This is the second installment of Climate Day LA, put on by Path to Positive Los Angeles, a strategic organizing initiative that inspires and empowers Angelenos to support climate solutions. They believe that social change happens when people follow trusted leaders that are part of their daily lives. They have built coalitions of leaders in five key community sectors: local government, faith, health, higher ed, and business to provide them with the rationale and the resources they need to engage their diverse stakeholders in local climate solutions.
