Beach Goth is a festival organized by The Growlers that was originally held at the Observatory in Santa Ana featuring performances by bands representing a variety of genres, including pop, rap, hip hop, heavy metal, and rock. Over the years, the event has included costume contests, amusement park rides, live performances of Rocky Horror Picture Show, and there are drag performances scheduled for the 2016 fest. The Growlers have headlined both Saturday and Sunday night of the annual Beach Goth festival since its inception. The festival has featured a wide variety of performances over the years, including sets by Die Antwoord, Grimes, Julian Casablancas, Mac DeMarco, The Drums, Foxygen, White Arrows, Ghost B.C., and The Abigails.
Gaining popularity every year, Beach Goth outgrew its original home at the Observatory in Santa Ana. For the festival’s fifth year running, they have moved to a new venue: Oak Canyon Park, CA. With more artists than ever before, the spacious ranch will be a nice new spot for festival-goers this fall.

If you’ve got your finger on the pulse of indie music, Beach Goth is a festival you won’t want to miss. Main headliners include Bon Iver, The Growlers, Justice, and Gucci Mane, and along with many other acts this year, they all have new music. A new experimental album from Bon Iver is scheduled to drop on September 30th; Gucci also just released his latest, Everybody Looking, over the summer to much fanfare; and another Beach Goth performer, James Blake release his most recent twisted electro LP in the spring. Devendra Banhart just put out a new single from his upcoming album, Ape in Pink Marble, which promises to be another timeless freakfolk record, like much of the rest of his discography. Bands to watch in the smaller font: Spanish delights Hinds, Timber Timbre, and BRONCHO. We’ll see ya there!
