For the last five years, The Hood Internet has been busy cooking up some addictive mixes of indie, pop, rap, and R&B. Their musical drug has been described as “lowbrow” and “brilliant” by New York Magazine. Concocting together Chris Brown, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean with Phantogram, Holy Ghost!, basically means everyone is going to be hooked shuffling their feet.

Alone, The Hood Internet is worthy of any Thursday night venture, but add UK beat maker Star Slinger into the equation and you’ve got a Hood Slung tour that is a must see. We caught Star Slinger’s last performance in the Bay, and here’s what we had to say:

Maybe I feared “too much of a good thing” – these dudes carving out this new genre tend to keep their tour lineups pretty tightly knit. More is always dangerous if you don’t handle it right, but here it turned out to be the cure for antsy feet.

If you’re not already getting antsy for the work bell to sound, then do yourself a favor and listen to these two tracks below.
