For a washing of mood, synths, and discovery tonight’s show with School of Seven Bells and Exitmusic will surely satisfy. School of Seven Bells signed to the revered Ghostly International, formed nearly six years ago. Their sophomore LP received high acclaim, and saw the group touring with the likes of Interpol, Blonde Redhead, and label-mates Active Child to name a few. Their lastest album, GHOSTORY, is a concept album telling a story a young girl named Lafaye and her love that comes and leaves her life. On their bio, lead singer Alejandra Deheza explains, “Lafaye is a story of our experiences. These songs are about things that everybody has been through. I like the fact that it’s big and you never know which voice is mine or what side I’m on. Every person has a voice in each situation. I feel like calling that voice Lafaye is a way for everyone to own these songs.”

Exitmusic returns to the road with School of Seven Bells and Zulu Winter, after recently finishing a tour with The Joy Formidable. The group’s dark aural sounds have been described by U.K.’sGuardian as “Lynchian femme fatale” and “ghoulish guitar pop” by New York Magazine. If that doesn’t give you the shivers than watch crashing-end-of-time video for their latest single, “Passage.”
