Jeff Mangum seems to have worked his way out of the hibernation that lasted over a decade after the release of his seminal album In the Aeroplane Over the Sea in 1998. After the pressures of sudden fame and critical acclaim drove him into prolonged hiding, the value of Mangum’s ticket has skyrocketed with the rarity of his live appearances and his status as a cult classic artist.

2012 sees Mangum return to the spotlight in earnest, with a headlining tour, a commitment to Coachella and appearances in support of the Occupy movement. As a testament to how hungry fans are for this tour, Mangum’s sold-out show at the Fox Theater has prompted him to add another Bay Area show this Sunday, April 8th at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Don’t dally: the only reason these haven’t sold out is because the announcement went out in a flash. Tickets are available to the newly-added show at $36 a pop.
