Zach Rogue makes it clear that Release The Sunbird is not a side-project, nor a solo-album, but an exploration outside of his group Rogue Wave. Shifting from the latter’s synth pop, to the former’s indie folk sound–Release The Sunbird is summer-warm rock subtly shining on the singer’s songwriting prowess. After recently opening for The Flaming Lips at Bimbo’s during Noise Pop Festival 2012 (check out our photos), the group returns to their roots playing The Brick & Mortar this Friday.

In our effort to share great music (especially local), we’re excited to offer a pair of tickets to Release The Sunbird’s performance this week. To win tickets, all you have to do is enter through our mobile app, or comment below why you should go and share this post on Facebook.

Meanwhile, listen to this lovely 6th Ave. version of “Best Thing For Me.”
