Bon Iver barely wanted it, but they won the 2012 Grammy Award for Best New Artist anyway. Here’s two reasons I’m happy Justin Vernon and crew took the honors:
1. In his speech, he held his moral ground in regards to the overblown spectacle of the event, but balanced it out with a sincere appreciation of the recognition bestowed on him. Spot-on from the guy in the comb-over and the sweet kicks.
2. We get to resuscitate the Who Is Arcade Fire? gag again this year. Presenting the excellent Who Is Bon Iver?:
