There isn’t much info out in the wild on this one yet, but Def Leppard apparently liked touring with Poison so much in 2009 that the two acts will jump back on the bus for another run of tour dates in 2012. Though no cities have been announced yet, Poison drummer Ricky Rockett confirmed the tour on Facebook with this post from the desk of the Department of Redundancy Department’s desk:
Hat tip to Blabbermouth for breaking the news and recapping the (what turned out to be petty) feud between the two bands pre-2009. (TLDR version: Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott said they had more substance than Poison, and us media types blew everything out of proportion). Clearly, they’ve patched up their differences to plan a redux of the mammoth 2009 billing.
Def Leppard will be promoting Rock Of Ages, the film adaptation of their Broadway rock musical, and expressed interest in picking up another artist featured in the show – specifically name-dropping Twisted Sister – so brace yourself as an extra layer of awesome may be slapped onto this thing before all’s said and done. We’ll keep an eye on things and let you know when the full 2012 tour dates and lineup are announced.
