RBMA brings Gary Bartz, Aloe Blacc and Bilal to Yoshi's in SF.

The Red Bull Music Academy offers emerging artists a chance to spend a month studying their craft with established musicians, plus full access to 12 state-of-the-art studios specifically set up for each edition of the academy. The RBMA rotates locations each year, with 2012’s edition going down in New York – but not before they tour the world throwing concerts during their offseason.

Later this month, the RBMA’s permanent vacation lands in San Francisco. They’ve got three shows lined up near the end of January, including a killer show at Yoshi’s which will throw jazz, soul and R&B greats of different eras on the same stage:

Grammy Award winning saxophonist Gary Bartz began making waves on the jazz scene during its prime in NYC and never slowed down.  Mr. Bartz was formally trained at Julliard; however, its the time alongside greats like Miles Davis, Charles Mingus and McCoy Tyner that has placed him as a legend in the game.  R&B icon, Bilal serves as featured vocalist for the Gary Bartz Project, and for this special night only, soul sensation and Red Bull Music Academy alumnus, Aloe Blacc, will join them on stage.
