Red Hot Chili Peppers will tour the United States in 2012.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will go on tour in 2012, breaking what was nearly a five-year drought with their first large-scale tour since 2007. The tour supports their latest album, I’m With You, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts in August.

Though not all the dates have been released yet, we know they’ll kick off the tour in January looking for a little Southern hospitality. But don’t expect it to end there: they’ve already mentioned plans to make the I’m With You┬átour last into 2013. Talk about a long promotional cycle.
