Twitter, Twitter! Our favorite concerts, haphazardly distilled into 140-character chunks.
It’s always interesting to see whether industry vets will shred their hearts out, or just play a mediocre show and coast on their reputation. In this endlessly cynical culture, there’s always the one guy who says, “this sucks, dude is decades past his prime” (the debate rages over at our Smashing Pumpkins tweet review). But I couldn’t find a single person who didn’t love the Paul Simon concert last night at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. In direct contrast to Corgan and crew, Simon gave plenty of service to the material the crowd wanted to hear, sending folks like @adampalermo and @jarroddickenson home all tingly with excitement. You know you missed something great when you wake up to the “voicemail concert” experience the next morning (glad I’m not the only one who does that, @ChristieBrimMc).
“Wow” is just fine, thanks.
