Twitter, Twitter! our favorite live concerts, haphazardly distilled into 140-character chunks.
Radiohead launched a stealthy, last minute show at The Roseland in NYC last night. Twitter was brimming with activity well before showtime, as Ticketmaster’s overloaded servers bunged up order confirmations for a handful of vocal would-be showgoers. As @watermainbreak pointed out, the “lucky ones” witnessed quite a treat, which included the first “Subterrenean Homesick Alien” performance since ’03, an REM homage, celeb attendees like Chris Rock and Scarlett Johansson, and a curfew-violating second encore (oh Radiohead, you so scandalous). Apart from a few cries for more old material and less King of Limbs representation, all tweets point to a rousing success – and round 2 is tonight. If you’re gonna miss it again, and you plan on drowning your sorrows, maybe take @carolrhartsell’s advice and find a bar where the jukebox won’t slap you in the face for your misfortune.
